Modifying Implementers

  • Active participants in occasional virtual meetings
  • Active participants in a 3-day in-person summer workshop in June 2023 and June 2024
  • Complete occasional assignments in preparation for meetings and workshop activities.
  • Complete feedback surveys to help revise the course materials and implementation activities
  • Offer an anonymous baseline student survey at the end of the existing course (2022-2023) and another student assessment at the end of the newly revised course (2023-2024). This survey will be evaluated by an independent assessment company for the purpose of reporting to NSF and the de-identified data may be used for publication by the PURSUE team.

Headshot of Anjali Thapar

“I have truly valued my interactions with the members of this group… It’s easy to say that the goal of a collaboration is to create a ‘community’ of scholars, and I wanted to thank you for not just saying these words but for creating spaces for us to engage and live up to the sentiment behind these words.”

Dr. Anjali Thapar, Bryn Mawr College

PURSUE will provide faculty with implementation support by hosting two faculty learning communities (FLC’s) over the course of two years. The modifier FLC will consist of faculty who currently teach a full-semester course on EEG/ERP but who wish to revise their course using PURSUE materials for the 2023-24 academic year. A new implementer FLC will consist of faculty who have never taught an EEG/ERP course before and who will work on designing the course in 2023-24 and offer the course in 2024-25.  The PURSUE team will provide assistance in designing your course and in selecting and adapting PURSUE materials to suit your particular learning goals and audience.

All participants will receive $1500 stipend for completing the participating faculty activities in Year 1 and Year 2, for a total stipend of $3000.  Travel, food, and accommodation expenses to the two workshops will also be covered.

About PURSUE

Funded by NSF IUSE program, PURSUE’s mission is to facilitate undergraduate training in cognitive electrophysiology by providing accessible undergraduate-level training materials, an open ERP database, and implementation support.

PURSUE’s collaborative model uses a cycle of innovation to design, implement, assess and revise our materials using evidence-based pedagogy and a community of faculty implementers from diverse institutions.  This collaboration has resulted in the successful launch of our Introductory Modules, now used in 44 countries world-wide. Our full-semester course has been through two implementation cycles and we are now ready to launch these materials with two new faculty implementer groups.
