Module 12 Overview:
This module introduces students to the importance of using statistics to determine if conditions and groups are different from each other. It focuses on factorial research designs and how to interpret the statistics generated by SPSS or Jamovi.

Module 2: Source of the EEG Waveform
Module 6: Programming Experiments
Module 10: Averaging & Data Inspection
Module 11: Data Quantification & Statistics
Module 12: Data Visualization & Communication
Units:
Data Visualization
Learning Goals:
- Appreciate the importance of data visualization to convey experimental outcomes and assess data quality
- Recognize how specific aspects of the ERP data are best communicated in different types of plots
- Apply best practice guidelines to create different types of ERP plots: waveform plots and scalp maps
Materials Included: Slides, In-class Activities, Take-home Activities
Waveform Plots & Scalp Maps Lab: This lab will focus on data communication. Student’s will apply “best practices” for graphing such that readers should be able to understand the study’s findings by examining the figures without reading the Results. Here student’s will learn how to create different types of plots and adjust them to emphasize the important aspects of the data.
Data Communication
Learning Goals:
- Communicate study results by combining factors and data types in figures
- Use knowledge of plotting conventions to evaluate communication of experimental outcomes in articles
Materials Included: Slides, In-class Activities
